Holiday Inn Express & Suites del Rio by IHG

Let me start by saying, I’ve always been a Marriott fan, but after my stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Del Rio, TX, I might just have a new favorite! From check-in to check-out, the manager Tommy and his team were absolutely amazing. Their  genuine friendliness and helpful recommendations made our stay truly special. The room was beautifully decorated with a cozy, homey feel, and most importantly— immaculately clean! (Yes, we checked with a black light, and it passed with flying colors.) The room smelled fresh and inviting, and the black-out shades were a game-changer, allowing for a perfect night's sleep with no outdoor light coming in. The hotel’s outdoor pool and hot tub area were inviting and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of options, even healthy options like egg white omelettes. While the hot food could have been a bit warmer, the breakfast attendant was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience for all guests. The entire staff—from housekeeping to the front desk—was always smiling, welcoming, and eager to help. Their outstanding hospitality made us feel right at home. If all IHG hotels are like this, they’ve gained a new loyal customer. A huge thank you to Tommy and his incredible team for making our stay perfect. Would give it more like 4.5. Front desk staff, especially Janeth, were amazing and very helpful - got me discounts and free drinks. Only complaint is there was hair in the carpet, comforter and towels in my room. Overall was a really comfortable stay.

In our first room the cover to the ac unit was off and in the floor. I went to the front desk and told them about it. The lady automatically said that was unacceptable and apologized. She gave us another on the spot and kept apologizing. The entire staff that we had contact with were fantastic. It was very quiet also. Great place to stay.

Made an overnight stay here while touring west Texas. Great rooms, and service, but that part of town is developing with more businesses, so traffic was brisk. Many restaurants nearby to satisfy ones palate. The hotels breakfast was good. Mattresses not as firm as this 71 year old woulda liked, but ok.

This is our favorite hotel in Del Rio. The service this weekend was particularly remarkable. Yesenia gave us a warm and friendly welcome at check-in. Gloria and Yvonne were also great throughout our stay! The hotel remodel that happened sometime during the pandemic are outstanding. The first floor is more open, brighter colors, and has way better natural lighting. The new dark-out curtains are fantastic! The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. It's better than most of the hotels we've stayed at. There's a great assortment of hot and cold items, including an automatic pancake maker, which my kids loved. Teresa was an outstanding breakfast host and really made our experience extra special.
